Before you are placed on site for your first shift, behind the scenes our dedicated WHS team has already conducted the appropriate risk assessments of our client's site - and it doesn't stop there. We are committed to ongoing reviews, safety observations, identification of hazards and ensuring that we understand exactly what role our employees will be undertaking on site. This is particularly important, as injuries often occur when employees undertake duties that they aren't prepared, trained or inducted for.

When you join our team of more than 21,000 temporary, on-hire and contract staff who work at Chandler Macleod's client sites each week, you will receive a thorough induction to ensure you are equipped with everything you need to know to perform your job safely and competently.

Injury + Workplace Rehabilitation

In the unlikely event that a candidate or contractor is injured at work, Chandler Macleod has specialist teams of Injury Management professionals to ensure timely and effective medical care and treatment. Working closely with a network of experienced occupational professionals and treatment providers, all injuries are treated with the highest level of care for a speedy and safe recovery.

Any safety initiatives we introduce are practical and user friendly, with the goal of empowering the workforce to make their working lives as safe as they can possibly be.

Going the extra mile

Like the safety demonstrations on aeroplanes, it's easy to feel that you've heard the workplace safety message before. Consequently, Chandler Macleod's dedicated safety team is constantly looking for innovative and imaginative ways to get the safety message across.

Some of the initiatives we have introduced on behalf of clients across an array of industries have included:

  • Instant SMS injury alerts to all staff detailing what incident occurred, how it happened and how to avoid it happening again.

  • Email and SMS alerts targeting new employees, alerting them to the hazards of working in a new location. This was implemented after our own analysis discovered that 70 per cent of incidents occur within the first three months of an assignment.

  • Monthly Safety Surveys and Feedback forms.

  • Presentations at high-risk workplace.

Our work in Safety takes in all levels of staff, from front line workers through to senior management. In many instances, we have placed our consultants on-site at clients' workplaces, in order to go the extra mile in conveying the safety message. And we're proud of the results.
